About Us
The Wonki Pot is a pottery studio located at The Pottery Barn at Crafted, Powdermills Hotel in Battle, offering a welcoming space for hotel guests and locals alike. We provide a range of courses and workshops, along with memberships and private sessions.

The studio is well-equipped for both throwing and handbuilding, set against the beautiful backdrop of a serene lake, nestled in the woods behind the hotel. It’s a perfect space to explore, create, and connect with the magic of clay.

The Wonki Story
The Wonki Pot began in 2022 in a small studio at The Yard in Hastings. I’d just finished my Master’s in Craft at Brighton and felt drawn to create a space where clay could be shared with others — slow, tactile, and welcoming.

In 2025, The Wonki Pot found a new home at Powdermills, tucked among trees and overlooking a quiet lake. It’s a place that mirrors the heart of the practice — rooted in nature, creativity, and community. This move marks a new chapter, and I can’t wait to see what we shape here together.
Meet The Team
Laura
Super day with Holly foraging for clay and making Earth balls. Holly’s knowledge and experience shone through on the day. We enjoyed a delicious lunch together around the fire, chatted and enjoyed each others company whilst honing our craft. Thanks Holly.

I had such a great time learning how to hand build pottery with Holly at the Wonki Pot. She is a wonderful teacher and explained everything really well. I am always a bit nervous about group classes, but it seems there was no need, as the class was relaxed and friendly. I am definitely going to be returning. Thank you!

Holly hosts a small friendly super encouraging workshop in her studio. She clearly has tons of knowledge and creative spirit, which she shares really beautifully and unassumingly and that makes her wonki workshop delightful. We had a real range of experience in the small group and I think we all loved it just as much as each other.
