Earth Ball Workshop

Join us for a slow, immersive afternoon of working with earth at The Wonki Pot. This workshop introduces the Japanese practice of Dorodango—transforming raw mud into smooth, polished spheres. It’s a quiet, meditative process that invites presence, patience, and connection with the natural world.

We’ll begin with a short walk to gather local clay and soil, then return to the studio to learn simple testing techniques and begin creating your own Japanese earth ball. Along the way, you’ll gain practical skills in identifying, collecting, and preparing wild clay, with plenty of space to experiment and ask questions.

You’ll finish the session with your own shiny Dorodango to take home, along with a deeper appreciation of the ground beneath your feet.

What’s included:

– Three hours of guided instruction
– A short clay-gathering walk and material testing
– All tools and materials provided
– Studio time to create and polish your Dorodango

No prior experience needed—just curiosity and a willingness to get a little muddy.
